5 Ways to Book a Party for Your Thirty-One Business

Posted on

I recently did a training on booking for my team. Here is a list of ideas on “Booking 101”. These are the fundamental ideas to keep you going with a solid booked calendar for your direct sales business. Check this out below:

There are 5 main ways to keep a full booking calendar:

  1. Booking through new customers
  2. Booking through past customers
  3. Booking past hostesses
  4. Booking at the party
  5. Customer Page/Facebook

Check out the video above as I go into detail on all 5 ways to book a party.

Handing out mini catalogs:

Everybody always asks me…WHAT DO YOU SAY….when you hand out mini catalogs??

“I just don’t know what to say”

Ready for it??? This is monumental…this is going to be a turning point in your career….pay very close attention…..you ready for it????……………..”Do you mind if I leave this with you?”

-she’ll say……. “Sure, what is it?”

-and you’ll say…. “I help people organize their lives. And this is our mini catalog. And if you fill out the form on the front and text me the picture of it, I’ll send you a free gift!”

A great way to remind yourself to do this is to put a post it note on the front of each mini catalog

All you need to make your own is…………

-a mini catalog

-catalog label

**that was tough, right? It’s not hard. You simply have to get over the fear of talking to strangers.

#1 Where do you put the mini catalogs?

**every Sunday….make up 25 mini’s….and put half of them in your purse and half of them in your CAR! Your job each week is to hand out 25 mini catalogs a week to complete strangers…

Who do you leave them with??

*** EVERYONE!!!! When you go into the……

-grocery store, give it to the cashier

-bank, send it in the tube

-gas station, give it to the clerk

-library, give it to the lady checking you out

-walmart, give it to the cashier

-doctor, leave some for the staff

-dollar store, give to the cashier

-WORK…leave in the BATHROOMS, breakrooms…

-servers….attach your bill to the mini catalog

ANYONE you come into contact with.  And when you get really good at this…you not only go into the dollar store you intended to, but you go into the store NEXT DOOR! Why not? You’re already THERE!

AND WHAT DO WE SAY WHEN WE HAND THEM OUT????? “Do you mind if I leave this with you???”

Now one more thing that’s fun to do……

You CAN get some kiddy looking goody bags and a sticker book, mini notepads, and a pack of 64 crayons at your dollar store.  Put some stickers, two sheets of paper folded over, 2 crayons, and a mini catalog packet.  Hand them to rowdy kids in stores-the moms will love you 🙂

Thirty-One Hostess Packet-Periscope

Posted on

Hostess packets for your Thirty-One business. Keep it SIMPLE! Check out this scope I did on my Hostess packets:

You really need to transition your hostess packet to be extremely simple. Take out all the fluff and noise, and let her see exactly what she needs to see.

I did some fluffed up packets for about 4 months. I spent so much time on these packets. And man were they pretty. They had all the bells and whistles and stickers and novel length fliers and yada yada. But I noticed after awhile that supplies were coming back unused, the packets weren’t even being used, they weren’t buying into the “incentives” I added…and it simply wasn’t worth my time and effort.

So I went back to the basics:

  1. catalogs
  2. how to order guide
  3. opportunity brochure
  4. 40 guests in 40 minutes
  5. order forms
  6. enter my drawing slips
  7. booking incentive cards

That’s it! And it’s been working like a charm. Bringing back the personal touch and check-ins every week. Mondays, I contact each hostess and let them know how much in orders they have online and ask if they need anything from me (catalogs, order forms, etc.).

I also created a hostess checklist. I sat down and wrote out almost every single step of my hostess coaching. And each Monday I go through each hostess and check this list and do some of the steps below. I highly encourage you to take the time to think about all the steps you want to accomplish (big and small) with every hostess. And get them into a checklist format.

HOME Party Checklist

  • Setup in Trello/google/calendar
  • Mailed hostess packet
  • Setup in back office
  • Setup facebook event
  • Send facebook msg with dates and banner
  • Setup cinchshare posts
  • Msg hostess about graphic to post on her timeline
  • Post graphic on hostess timeline
  • FB prize #1 (pick from those that joined)

  • Check invitation form and mail invites to responders
  • Day 5 manually post add a friend win a prize graphic
  • FB prize #2 (pick from birthday survey respondents)
  • Checkpoint “How’s it going” (every Mon)
  • Day 6 manually post birthday survey
  • FB prize #3 (add a friend)

Frequently Asked Questions about Becoming a Thirty-One Consultant

Video Posted on

Ever wonder what becoming a Thirty-One consultant is all about? Check out this video!

Here is the new fall enrollment kit you get for $99:

We also have an amazing program called Start Swell for our new consultants. It’s top notch and will get you started off with a BANG! You have the chance to earn FOUR of these kits for FREE in your first 4 months as a new consultant!

Would you like to view the entire Thirty-One Catalog? Check out the link below:

Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions answered for you.

  1. I have a very busy life and I’m not sure if I can be gone at night. What are the shopping event options?

You can do JUST catalog parties and online parties if that is what fits your schedule.  A catalog party is when you give someone a hostess packet and they simply collect orders from their friends and family and turn them in to you. SO EASY!

  1. Do consultants have a monthly/quarterly quota to stay active?

To stay active with Thirty-One, consultants only need to submit $200 in sales every rolling three months. A qualifying party for Thirty-One is only $200! Very easy to stay active!

  1. Does the company supply consultants with a website? If so, what is the cost?

The cost is $12.95 a month.  You will receive the website and newsletter FREE during your first three months you join Thirty-0ne. And you can cancel that at any time. But this website allows your friends, family, and customers to order directly from your website AND order from your hostesses parties online!

  1. How do I submit orders?

You submit orders via your personal website in what we call our “Back Office”.  Here you will place party orders, create online orders, and do business supply orders

  1. Can my customers order from my website?

Yes! Your customers can go directly to your website and place an order

  1. What is my initial cost to become a consultant?

It only takes $99 to purchase your enrollment kit!  It comes with over $400 in product you get to use for yourself and your parties. And those are yours to KEEP and USE! It also comes with all your order forms, catalogs, mini catalogs, and much more! Everything you need to get your business rolling!

  1. What will I get with my kit and when can I expect to receive it?

You will get all the products on the back of the new catalog along with 25 catalogs, invitations, and 50 order forms in addition to other start-up paperwork.  You will receive your kit in 3-5 days.

  1. Are there any other hidden fees?

No, Thirty-One does not charge you any other fees throughout the year.

  1. What can I do to prepare while waiting for my kit?

You’ll want to jump right into some training we have just for our new consultants on our team! And you’ll want to spread the word about your new business.  Tell all your family and friends and start booking those parties!!!  Your best bet is to have what I call a “launch party” at your house.  Invite everyone you know and do your own party when your kit arrives.  That way you can enter your first party, you’ll make all the commission, and you’ll earn all the free and half-price items as the hostess-so you can add to your kit for FREE!

  1. How are Consultants paid at Thirty-One?

We are a paperless company!  You will need to set up for Direct Deposit. Consultants are paid twice a month. If you choose to have a check sent to you there is a $4 charge.  We get paid by direct deposit on the 10th and 25th of each month.

  1. Does the company offer consultant incentives?

Yes, Thirty-One offers us challenges during various months to receive something FREE or have the opportunity to qualify for various things. I personally love a good challenge and its funny how your customers will help you get there too! You also have the chance to earn free TRIPS! And you’ll always have the chance to earn NEW free product when a new catalog is getting ready to launch. Thirty-One makes it easy to run your business with as little out of pocket as possible!

  1. How do I collect money from customers?

As a consultant, you can accept cash, checks, or credit cards for the full amount owed including shipping and tax. Consultants are not charged for this service. Thirty One accepts all major credit cards.

  1. Do I have to have a separate business checking account to become a Thirty-One consultant?

No. Although, by having a separate checking account for your Thirty-One business it may make it easier to track business income and expenses.

  1. Is there a penalty or fee if I decide to get out of the business?

No. Just contact home office and let them know of your decision.  There is never a penalty for not selling…you have nothing to lose by trying!!!

  1. Are there any support groups or training for Thirty-One consultants?

Yes! Yes! Yes! You will receive a Training packet in your kit. We also have a Consultant Website for all Thirty-One consultants and it is updated daily with the

latest information that you will need to run your business. You can get all the info on company announcements, consultant information, and online trainings. We also have a team page full of daily tips and marketing tricks for your business! And of course, we have individual team trainings and resources that are INVALUABLE to everyone on our team:)

These are just a few questions to help get you started if you’re thinking of becoming a Thirty-One consultant. It truly was one of the best decisions I ever made! If you have more questions, please feel free to ask below or message me. I would be happy to answer any and all questions!

Follow Up For Your Thirty-One Customers

Video Posted on

Follow up is KEY! I’m willing to bet 90% of the field misses the mark when it comes to following up with their customers. Don’t. Be. That. Guy!

Check out this quick video and see how easy it is to have all your follow ups in one spot (and you’ll find the form to download below):

I’m a big believer in 3 contacts a day. 3 contacts a day to keep your business running strong. Whether you’re texting someone who had mentioned wanting to do a show, or you’re following up with a  potential recruit…follow up is key.

What can you use this for:

  1. potential recruits
  2. potential hostesses
  3. potential customers (maybe they commented on something they wanted)
  4. anytime you MAIL something, you need to follow up!
  5. someone said…maybe I can book a party in 3 months (WRITE IT DOWN!)
  6. you saw on FB that a customer was having surgery and wanted to send a card

*****AND SO MUCH MORE! Literally, anything you need to NOT forget and NOT misplace on a scratch piece of paper.

In the last 2 days, I have a potential recruit enrolling tonight and a huge fundraiser booked for October. All because I consistently followed up!

My recruit, she had placed a couple of large orders and I naturally told her she should enroll and place them as her own because this was the 2nd month in a row she was placing an order over $200. She said, no no. Then she messaged “ok, tell me more”. She said she was signing up the first of September. I messaged her, she hadn’t yet. So then I messaged her again this morning. And she said, got busy…call me tonight at 8:30! BAM! I’m adding another fabulous team member with GREAT potential!

My fundraiser…this was a guest at a home party from July. She wanted to do a huge fundraiser in September. Didn’t get much of a response sccheduling a date. So every few weeks I would send another message. Finally sent another message yesterday and she’s booked solid for October! Leadership Incentive Trip here I come:)

I’m only telling you these things because I want you to know that consistency on your part will be the key to your success in this business. People get busy. WE think about 31 all day long. They do not. When I send these follow up messages, they are QUICK~SHORT~and to the POINT! I do not want to intimidate, seem irritated, or seem pushy in any way. A Simple, hey Christina! Simply checking in to see if you wanted to grab a date in October for your fundraiser? Or, “hey Peggy! Checking in to see if you were still interested in enrolling. I’d love to help you get enrolled and get that party entered!”

Whatever you do, make sure you are following up. And if you don’t have anything to follow up on…go read the rest of my blog! You should be mailing some packets or mini catalogs out weekly. That way you HAVE 3 contacts a day to follow up with! Google Melissa Fietsam and 3 contacts a day and there’s a whole post on that!

Use Coloring Sheets for Your Direct Sales Business

Posted on Updated on

Coloring Sheets. Cheap. Fun. and EASY! Are you using them in your direct sales business?

coloring sheet

Coloring sheets are great for soooooooooo many things!

  • You can leave them at any offices where there might be children waiting
  • If you do vendor events, attract the kids to your booth! You entertain those kids, and mom will be forever grateful and probably sit at your booth a bit longer while the kids are ransacking your papers and crayons (thank you Melanie Moore for that fabulous tip).
  • Keep them in your purse with the crayon boxes. If you’re in a store or restaurant and see a mom with some really rowdy kids…hand her some. I’d be willing to bet that women will thank you and be willing to take a look at your catalog you hand her too:)
  • Halloween, or any holiday…run a contest on Facebook or your customer group for them to print, have their kids color, and upload the picture back to Facebook and tag you. FUN, RIGHT?
  • Pick out a school, or maybe just a class, and see if they would like to participate in a coloring contest. It’s all about building those relationships, right?
  • Here’s one for you…take them in your party kit. Got some rowdy kids at your party? Give them some crayons and a sheet to color:)

I found the coolest crayons. They come in 6 packs and you buy a big box (48 boxes) for super cheap at www.orientaltrading.com for $9! Check it out by clicking on the picture below. And you can also fit your business label on those boxes:

I would love to hear what else you can think of to do with coloring sheets all year long?

Think. Outside. Of. The. BOX!

Thirty-One Booking Challenge

Video Posted on

So here’s a fun new way to get some NEW customers and hostesses from the contacts you already HAVE!

Check out this video and see how the book Go Pro by Eric Worre, taught this old dog some new tricks:

Getting new customers and hostesses is a HUGE focus in my business right now. So when this idea hit me, I ran with it.

How many times do we hammer the same contacts over and over again? It’s really time to EXPAND. It’s time to set a goal in your business to reach a certain # of new contacts each month.

My personal goal is 50 new quality contacts each month for the remainder of the year.

This challenge is about utilizing channels you already know (like they’d smack you in the face they’re close)…and digging deep to build relationships that are already there. You simply haven’t thought of them as business contacts yet.

If you have not read the book, Go Pro, by Eric Worre-stop everything you’re doing and download the audio or order the book. Your business will thank you. That is where this idea came from and I HIGHLY recommend that book to each and every one of you!

Here is your booking challenge form if you would like to go along with our team: http://1drv.ms/1Oid23p
