Birthday Club for your Direct Sales Customers

Posted on Updated on

So I just recently launched a Birthday Club for my Direct Sales customers.  I tried to do this before, but it didn’t work out. I had no way to track it, I had no idea what I was going to do with it, and it just flopped! But NOW…I’m really excited!

So I launched it to my customers with a survey (you can see the post below for details on the survey). But here is what I’m doing with my Birthday Club.

Google Forms has this beautiful spreadsheet where I can pull the information from my “Birthday Club Survey”and sort by MONTH. So at the end of the month, I can go in and see:

1. which customer has a birthday that next month

2. and I can create ADDRESS LABELS (oh. my. gosh. right?!)

So what am I going to send them?

I’m going to send them a coupon for $10 off a $31 purchase or more. You could do $5 if you wanted. But it will be something to show them I care, tell them Happy Birthday, and just be a PRESENCE. Everyone loves getting recognized on your birthday. And who doesn’t love to spoil yourself for your birthday? So why not give them a coupon and let them do it with Thirty-One? Or your company, whatever that might be.

You could also add these orders to parties and make some hostesses happy when they get some extra perks. Or use it to get them to the next level and save you the $10 you just forked out on the $10 coupon!

Now here’s the BRILLIANT part:

I am going to add this form to every online event that I do. So when I have a hostess doing a Facebook party, this will be a way for me to get people to answer questions about booking and recruiting AND get their information to add to my contact base! WOOT WOOT for more contacts!

Anything you do, just let your customers know you CARE. That’s what it’s all about. 2015 is going to be the year that I work on building relationships. Not only in my business, but my family and friends!

So here’s to a new Birthday Club to celebrate my customers!

Create a Survey for your Direct Sales Customers, Google Forms rocks!

Posted on

Surveys are SO much fun! I have created surveys for my team and my customers for a few years now. And I always have great success with them.

So WHY would you want to create a survey?

You can reach a ton of people this way

You can ask all the right questions

You can get everyone’s updated email and address

You can ask your booking and recruiting questions

You can ask specific questions targeted to something you’re working on

My latest survey was made for my new Birthday Club:

I asked:

2. Birthday month

3. Email address

4. ever thought about doing a catalog show

5. What month would you like to do that (with 3 months to choose from)

6. ever thought about doing a home show

7. What month would you like to do that (with 3 months to choose from)

8. ever thought about doing a fundraiser

9. ever thought about becoming a consultant

Now, I have used for probably 3 years. I recently tried Google  Forms and I think I may be making the switch. I have had a couple people send it my way in the last couple years. Meaghean Farrington sent it my way about a year ago. And then Missy Nelson sent it my way just recently. So, when  I had a second, I decided to play with the Google Forms.

Here is what I like about Google Forms vs. Survey Monkey:

~Google Forms does not have a cut off # for responses. Survey monkey cuts you off at 100 responses before you have to PAY to view them

~Google Forms allows you to view the responses right from your screen in some kind of excel looking document (I’m no expert, that description is as expert as it gets. lo!)

~Google Forms has a much “cleaner” feel to it. The survey just looks nicer in my opinion

Would you like a video on how to create a Google Form? Here you go!

In Direct sales, it’s so important to always keep things fresh for your customers. A survey can help you do that. You want to know what they’re THINKING!  You can ask them the booking and recruiting questions in a “non-threatening” way. You could also ask them a question about something you were working on (party themes is one I’ve done).  So check out this quick tutorial on how to set up your own survey:

Here is the link to create your own Google Form:

Cold Calls and Booking Blitzes for Direct Sales

Posted on

Don’t like cold calls? Neither do I! And in my business, they’re a thing of the past. Take a peek and see what I do when I need to drum up some new lines of communication and business!

I shared this with my team today:

Are you ladies ready to start booking for January? You have officially been challenged to try this. Who’s in? You have NOTHING to lose by committing to make customer contacts EACH and EVERY DAY!

Don’t like “cold calls”??? I have a plan for you!! This gives you a REASON to call!!

Go through all your old order forms. Find ones with addresses and phone numbers. On Monday….send 5-15 mini catalogs with a printed piece of paper that reads:

Just stopping in to say hello! I’ve missed you and wanted to send you this great offer just to say I appreciate your time and your business: This month only…take $5 off your purchase of $31 or more….or get (hostess special) just for booking your own catalog or home show! The special next month is (insert customer special)!

Then the NEXT Monday…you call 3 people each day and say:

“Just calling to see if you got my catalog in the mail! I wanted to make sure you got it and see if I could interest you in booking a catalog party to earn some things for yourself! “

If she says no, I don’t have any time….you say….”you can always just do a catalog party! I can get you a few products to carry around and you can collect some orders from your family and friends and still earn all the hostess benefits. It’s great to do on the go!”

If she still says no….say…”no problem! I totally understand. How about I contact you in a few months and see if things have slowed down for you!”
Set up folders for the 12 months. If she says call me in 3 months, write her name down on a sheet of paper in that month’s folder so you remember to call her again! Remember, they’re not saying NO to YOU…just to what you’re offering that day. They might say yes the next time!! Keep track of who you call each month and I wouldn’t suggest calling the same person in twice in a 4 month period unless they ask you to!

The other way you can make 3 contact calls a day is to make customer care calls. So if you have a party…call the customers one week after they get their orders and ask if everything was okay? Just calling to make sure you’re 100% satisfied with your product. Were you interested in more information about hosting your own party and earning some free items?

This will give you a CONSTANT flow of customers to be speaking with on a daily basis. It is so important that you’re keeping in touch with old customers and making new ones, DAILY! If you work your business, your business will work for you!

New Jewel Kade Jewelry Line Joining Thirty-One! Coming Soon!

Posted on

JK by Thirty-One

SO… the big announcement last night…is that Thirty-One has joined forces with a company called Jewel Kade! We have a goal in 2015 to be your one stop shop for organization for your family, fun products for YOU, and giftable items to help you shop for yourself and others. Jewel Kade’s founder is an amazing lady who started much the same way our founder did, selling her dream out of her basement. Family and women are her #1 priority. Because of that alignment in goals and dreams, we will be starting a small collection of Jewel Kade jewelry in March! This will be a small additional line, much like Jewell. Thirty-One and Jewell are still our primary products that you have come to know and love. This is just going to be an additional line for you to choose from! We have chosen 19 items to be featured in this line in March and will have a mini catalog to feature those products. In the fall of 2015, they will become a fixture in the catalog, much like our retro metro line that you love.

I’m very excited about the growth and direction of our company. Business decisions are being made that not only bring our customers fresh and new things to love each season, but it’s so great for our consultants too! So I can’t wait to show you all of these exciting products. I’m going to go find my favorite one and post in the comments for you (this was an item designed especially for Thirty-One). So keep an eye out for some exciting things coming your way!

As a business owner, I’m most excited about the opportunity for:

GROWTH: It’s so important for a company to always keep their customers on the edge. Yes, everyone loves their Thirty-One line, and soon to be Jewell line. But there’s always those guests who ask for more options in the affordable “gifts” category.

NEWNESS: With the transition to a 6 month catalog season, this comes RIGHT in the middle of the catalog season! It brings a sense of NEW to our line, just when we and our customers will be asking for it.

BOOKING: This is a new reason for our customers to book a party! They get to say, come see the new Jewell line now…then they get to say, come see the new Jewell Kade line in March! And right in time for all those graduation and Mother’s Day gifts that everyone will be looking to buy

LEARNING: I love to learn! And we’re bringing on a whole group of fantastic women that I get to grow and learn from. And a whole new set of friends! I believe I have so much to offer them in terms of support in welcoming them to our company, and I know they will be able to teach me some new tips and tricks. So this is VERY exciting for us!

RECRUITING: What a way to lead the recruiting conversation in a fresh new spin. I always keep in contact with my recruiting leads, but after awhile, you start sounding like a parrot, right? First I get to contact them about the new Jewell line. Next, I get to contact them about the new JK line. It’s called OPPORTUNITY 😉

PERSONALIZATION: Jewel Kade has a line of personalized products that align with our company. And that opens the door to SO many possibilities for us and the future of our company! Our company is unique because of the personalization we offer. I am very excited about expanding our options of items to personalize in the future!

So anyways, just my two sense about a fabulous new company we are partnering with coming soon! Thirty-One sure knows how to keep us on our toes! And I love every minute of it!

New Social Media Site called tsū

Posted on Updated on

Will this be the next Facebook? Don’t laugh, we all had a MySpace. LOL!

So there’s a new social media site that was just launched not too long ago called tsū . And this has me VERY intrigued! I’m wondering if this would be a good business platform, as well as social media. So I could have a separate page to post all of my business ideas. And one just for family and friends? I will be looking into this MUCH more and updating everyone. It’s like a new shiny ball. I’m on it..LOL!

Here’s my link to go check it out and make your own profile. You actually have to use my code to be “invited”. This social media site is by invitation only. I’m off to play! You can join by clicking my link, and I will post some FAQs from the site below!

What is tsū?

tsū is a free social network and payment platform that shares up to 90% of revenues with its users.
(tsū is pronounced ‘Sue’)

How is tsū different?

1. Ownership – We believe in real ownership, which only exists when users own the rights to their content and the economics that come with it. Users should be compensated for their likeness, image and content. It’s simple and it’s the right thing to do.

2. Access – We share social revenues with everyone, for any type of content, size of network or level of influence. Using tsū requires nothing more than what you already do on other social media platforms today.

3. Empowerment – Our model is global, scalable, and designed to empower the user. For the first time every user can be a content creator earning royalties in perpetuity.

How does tsῡ work?

tsū shares social revenues that come from third party ads, sponsorships and partnerships. Once economics are created, tsū receives 10% to maintain the platform. Half of the remaining earned revenue is paid to the user who created the content. The other half of the remaining earned revenue is distributed to the user’s network Family Tree. Users on tsū monetize their content and network in perpetuity, which continues to grow alongside the community.

How do I join tsῡ?

New members can only join tsū by user invitation (via member shortcodes.) Our invite-only system enables us to track and distribute network value to the users who help tsū grow.

The content I share has value?

Yes, as a user on social media platforms, your content and interactions are valuable. On tsū, you will get paid for your content. Half of your earned revenue is in the form of royalties generated by the content you post. Sharing content on tsū is as simple as any other social platform. Sign up, post your status, photos, or videos to your page, and engage with your friends as little or as often as you’d like.

My network has value?

Yes, your network is also valuable. The other half of your earned revenue on tsū comes from the growth and activity of your personal social network. One third of all users’ content-generated revenue is passed up to the person that directly invited them to join tsū. A third of the remaining shared revenue will then go to the person that invited that user, and so on. The generations of users in your personal network are a part of what we call your Family Tree. To learn more about the algorithm that tsu uses to distribute network value, visit: What is the tsu Algorithm?

What is the tsū Algorithm?

Tsū’s algorithm automatically tracks, measures, and distributes revenue to the appropriate user and their Family Tree. At a high level, 90% of revenues are distributed to users. To maintain the platform, tsū receives 10%. To see how this breaks down, let’s take a look at 4 users, all with varying start dates on tsū:

User A invites user B, who invites user C, who invites user D

Part 1
– $100 of earned revenue is generated based on the content user D shared (photos, videos, status updates, etc.)

Part 2
– 90% of earned revenue go to the users. In this case, $90 of the $100 is shared with all the users.
– tsū takes 10% of the $100 for platform fees. In this case $10.

Part 3
– User D, the original content creator takes 50% of the $90. In this case, $45.
– User C gets 33.3% (1/3) of the original $90 generated. In this case, $29.70
– User B gets 11.1% (1/3 of 1/3 = 1/9) of the original $90 generated. In this case $9.99
– User A gets 3.70% (1/3 of 1/3 of 1/3 = 1/27) of the original $90 generated. In this case $3.33
– This is what we call the rule of infinite thirds

Thirty-One Wine Tasting Party, New Year…New Kind of Party!

Video Posted on

A New Way to Do an Open House for Direct Sales Catalog Change Over

Posted on

Alright ladies. I’m going to try a brand new approach to a spring open house launch party. I’m going to host a PICK UP party. I never have any luck with open houses. Although, many people do! And if that works for you, then you should totally stick with it.

So here is my idea. Promote this as a 2 hour event, 2 days in a row. Probably on a Saturday and Sunday. I will set up my products, do a give a way, and they can PICK UP their brand new spring catalog.

1. It saves me shipping.
2. I get to show them product
3. I get to talk to them
4. It’s so much less intimidating when they know they’re just coming to “pick up” their new catalog
5. I’ll have some snacks
6. I’ll do some give a ways
7. I’ll give them 10% off their order that day (and enter as a party so it doesn’t cost me out of pocket)

**RSS doesn’t start shipping until December 17th. So I will just have to showcase the “new” to them when they get here. And use my add on kit.

**and I will wait until December 10th (Christmas shipping deadline) before I host this. I still want December orders until the very last minute!

**I will take pre-orders and this is how I will do it. I will wait until i have a “total” for these orders and then I’ll buy that amount in gift certificates, just in case they use credit card, i want to make sure to get the actual money in hand, so that is why I will do that. If I have $98 in orders, I’ll just buy $100 gift certificate. And pay the extra $2 myself. Hope that makes sense.

So, what do you think?? Am I crazy? I think just giving it a different name and SPIN, might just work!

Don’t Forget to Say Thank You to Your Thirty-One Customers!

Image Posted on

I’m really hitting all areas of my business lately. And one thing I’m going to be working on is customer service.  Making lasting connections with your customers in Direct Sales is imperative to your longevity.

Anyone can make a quick sale. But how do you get those people to KEEP you in their digital “Rolodex”? We are all so busy these days. My worst fear is that a customer of mine would be asked, “Who was your consultant?” And they would reply, “I don’t know!”. I do everything I can to try and make that lasting connection so that never happens.

So, sometimes I get a phone number, but no email. I was trying to figure out how I could connect with those customers in a non-confrontational way. So here is what I came up with.

From now on, I am going to start texting this picture to each and every customer I have. And then type the following below it so they can click on the link to get to my customer page 🙂

Recruiting at the Direct Sales Party-let’s kick it up a notch!

Video Posted on Updated on

Okay, so many of us know the “ask me about my job” portion in your presentation at a home party.  You give them 3 minutes to ask you anything you want about your job. Well, we’re kicking it into high gear with this fabulous new enrollment kit coming on December 16th.

So the idea is this…after they are done asking you questions, we have a new form we’re going to be passing out. We are going to laminate these forms so they become a permanent part of our presentation and are easily reusable. This form we have created, is a huge VISUAL tool to show them 3 things. Why do you want to become a new consultant:

PRODUCT– Enrollment kit and start swell options

FUN– Book your launch party

CASH– Earn $150 from your launch party

These are the top 3 reasons people join a company. So why not put that visual front and center, right? Watch this video to see the flier we made as a visual (Bridgett Edwards did a FANTASTIC job making this flier for our team)…and see the impact that this visual could have on your own recruiting efforts at your Thirty-One parties.

**I will post this file on the Director’s page on Facebook. I CANNOT email this form to anyone, I do not have time to do that, or keep up with individual requests for this form. So I’m apologizing in advance!

The goal with this part of my party presentation will be:

1. Get them to enroll that night (I will have consultant agreements on hand so they can fill it out and I can enroll them)

2. Get them to book their launch party that night (and I will help them with the presentation. I am the expert and can set them up for success with bookings. And they can watch and learn)

3. And help them not only only SEE the possibilities of FUN, PRODUCT, and CASH….but help them ACHIEVE it!
