Tag and Tell Posts for Your Direct Sales Business

I love doing these kinds of posts. And I simply wanted to give you some thought behind WHY I do them and some tips on HOW to do them.

I posted this on my main Facebook timeline and my closed customer group. This particular one was for Valentines Day:

Now, you want to be very careful about your wording in the actual POST. Facebook does NOT like certain words: tag, tag a friend, giveaway, share this post, etc. Things like that will flag your post in facebook algorithms. And it will be less likely to show up in people’s newsfeeds.

So here is what I posted with the picture above:

Why do I do this?

Christmas Dice Booking for Your Thirty-One Parties

Oh my gosh! This was SO much fun! So I took the Dice Booking Game and added a small twist with Christmas present boxes. And my guests LOVED the boxes!

My goal with the boxes was to get them in the spirit of GIFTING and thinking about Christmas presents! It was cute, fun, and festive. And I’ll be using this through the holidays! Find the rules below, but watch this video first!

Supplies:

1. fiesta bowl or vegetable tray…whatever that thing is called (from the original game):

2. Eleven Christmas boxes. I found mine at Dollar General for $1

3. Large colorful dice (or regular dice if you want to be that guy. Just kidding! Regular dice are fine!)

4. Some slips of paper to insert your prizes into the boxes. I used cardstock and made sure they fit in there pretty tight so they would stay in the bottom.

Prizes:

It is VERY important that you use these exact #’s for the prize boxes. Someone out there has done the statistics of how many times a # was likely to be rolled. So, for instance, the #2 was the least rolled #. So you’re going to want to put your Gran Prize in that box!

#2- Grand Prize

#3 and #4- Prizes

#’s 5-9 are Book a Show

#’s 10-12 are prizes

What do you give away as the prizes?:

~key fobs

~$5 off your order

~free customer special (only if it’s cheap) and write “with a $35 purchase”

~Pick a prize (have a prize box with lots of little goodies from your company-key fobs, nail files, things from dollar bins at Target. etc)

What happens if two people get the same number?:

Nothing! When someone rolls the dice and gets their number, they open the box and see what their prize is. And then they put the box back on the table! So it’s ok if someone rolls the dice and gets the same number.

How does this compare to my purse booking game?:

I will use them BOTH! They are both equally effective when it comes to booking. However, I like this dice booking game because I don’t have to switch out the prizes or anything. They just stay in the box. It’s cheap, but it’s adorable and kind of irresistible, so they can’t stand not to play!

The biggest time consumption I had with the purse game is that I had to change out the slips in them. And with 20 purses, it is sometimes a chore. Effective, but a chore.

So…final conclusion is that I will alternate this Dice Booking Game AND the purse booking game. When I have a party with a ton of repeat guests, I’ll be able to switch it up a little!

Thirty-One Holiday Facebook Party Script for November and December

So I tried something new with my Thirty-One Facebook parties. I really wanted to focus on SIMPLE~EASY~FUN. But I also was struggling with 2 weeks events. That’s a lot of work on my part.  I needed easy and structured. So I encourage you to write an outline like I have, figure out what YOU want to share with your customers, and tailor it according to your own needs and customers. And remember, each party is different. Always ask your hostess what kind of guests she has: nurses/ teachers? You’ll want to post things that tailor to THEM.

**below you will find my entire 7 day Facebook script for November and December 2015 with all images.

I want to make it FUN for my hostesses and guests!!

So this is my 7 day holiday Facebook party I have created:

1. 3 posts a day

2. I post using http://www.cinchshare.com, so I can pre-post all of those

3. I post at 9am, 2pm, and 7pm each day

4. I close the event 2 days before their actual party closes. WHY? Because I want to give them time to round up orders for those last 2 days, and it just helps me plan exact dates to start and stop those events.

I do a Facebook event the same way for every party. Whether they are having a home show, a catalog show, a Fundraiser, or a Facebook Party. They all get the same 7 day event. This is my way to get in front of as many people as I possibly can!

I focused on the product lines I wanted to showcase, booking seeds, recruiting seeds, and lead generation (getting follow up information).

I wrote down a list of absolutely everything I wanted to post in a FB event. And this is the outline I ended up with:

PRE-POSTS (I load these before I invite my host and before she invites all her friends)

1. Introduction to ME (always include a picture)

2. Bundle pictures to show what they can get and let them browse products

**this particular holiday outline is not as structured as the one below because it is for the holidays and focusing on gifts!

Let’s talk HOME ORGANIZATION today!

On the left…

YOUR WAY CUBES to organize SHOES! I used to have a major shoe problem with 5 kids…love the 31 solution we came up with! Nice and neat! Now if I could just get my kids to put the shoes IN the box 😉

On the right…

YOUR WAY RECTANGLES: I took all their toys and sorted into boxes with LIDS: Legos, blocks, puzzle pieces, trains and train tracks, and of course cars!! It’s amazing how they stay off the floor. But not only that, when I do get them out, it’s a more FOCUSED play. It’s all right there, not lying all over the house. And best part…I’m not breaking my neck or puncturing my foot stepping on them every day!

OH SNAP POCKETS: Great for bills, mail, homework, school papers, and even bathrooms and offices!

Holiday Helpers for Your Thirty-One Business

This is so much FUN!! This is a great way to break out of your circle of friends and family and get some new customers and hostesses! Check out this quick video:

My focus is finding NEW customers and hostesses for this fall season:

My focus in my business right now is filling my fall calendar. Not only with current customers and hostesses, but with NEW customers and hostesses. So a lot of the material you will see coming from me, will be new and wacky ideas to bring in a whole new crowd of people to my Thirty-One business. So here is my first venture in that direction.

So here’s the idea:

You’re selecting 10 key people. Could be: mom, sister, grandma, past hostesses, your best friends, your neighbor, your very best customers…and you’re giving them this flier (below) with 10 catalogs or mini catalogs. And you’re giving them EACH 10 enter my drawing slips. They’re going to get 10 people to fill out those slips and TEXT you the picture of their form filled out. When they do, your “person” gets a free gift from you.

Use the resources you have:

So, you’re essentially using the immediate circle that you have, and asking them to spread your business for you. Because let’s face it, word of mouth is your very best advertisement. It’s a personal testimony. “Yes, I love Melissa. She’s awesome. I’ve hosted several parties with her and she’s always great to work with.” That conversation is ten times worth it’s weight in gold when it comes to referrals. I’ll be putting hostess packets in these bags and closing them up. I’ll be taking them to parties with me and letting them know there is a “mystery surprise” inside for anyone who books a party. The bags are just adorable and it’s FUN. You always have to be switching things up and keeping it fun!

Right now, you should be planning what you’re doing for Halloween, Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Not only events and holidays, but also customer appreciation. And don’t forget giving back in your community!

You need to plan DATES. So once you figure out what you’re going to do, you need dates when everything starts and stops. Those dates are crucial to make sure you fit everything in!

And then…you thought I was done, hunh? You need to be training your team to do the same! Don’t have a team? Find some other direct sales consultants to meet for lunch and plan with you. It’s GREAT to get ideas from other people too!

So that simply gives you an idea that there are TONS of ideas out there. You just have to be willing to put the time into it! More than HALF of your business for the entire year will most likely be done in Oct/Nov/Dec. Are you ready for it?
